A Manor ISD student took part in a very prestigious leadership academy over the summer.
Alexandria Pierson, a former Manor Middle and current Manor New Tech Middle student, took part in the Lone Star Leadership Academy. Pierson was one of 2,274 4th-8th graders from across Texas to attend the academy, hosted by the Education in Action. During the weeklong, overnight camp in Houston/Galveston, Alexandria and other students developed leadership skills while learning about the great state of Texas. Participants discussed what they learned, completed problem solving and decision-making projects, exercised creativity, and practiced presentation skills.
Alexandria was selected by a former elementary school teacher because of her membership in the National Junior Honor Society and leadership skills. She is currently apart of NJHS, Photography Club, and Yearbook. Alexandria said she learned so much at the camps that will help her in real-world situations, and very grateful for the opportunity.
