MISD Partnering with YMCA Austin for After School Child Care

The YMCA afterschool program is the ideal out-of-school time opportunity for your child to grow academically, emotionally, and physically. Y Afterschool offers a constructive balance of counselor led activities and free time for child exploration. Educational curriculum is aligned with the school standards and includes daily enrichment activities (arts and crafts, science/math, nutrition/wellness, character development, and literacy). In addition, the YMCA of Austin provides CATCH physical activity curriculum, time for homework, a nutritious daily snack, and outside-playground time.

As with all YMCA programs, afterschool staff emphasize and model the YMCA five core character values (respect, responsibility, honesty, faith, and caring), and the Search Institute’s 40 Developmental Assets. Participants gain confidence, explore new areas of interest, and make new friends in a safe and nurturing environment.

NOTE: All parents must complete new enrollment forms each year to comply with TDFPS licensing standards. Your child will not be guaranteed a spot in the program until all documents are completed in full and enrollment fee is processed.

 Enrollment Fee - $50 per child, due at the time of registration

o Register online and use code 1718AS to reduce registration fee to $30. A $20 savings/child.

 Payment Method – bank withdrawal or credit/debit card

 Date of Withdrawal/Debit - 1st or 15th

 Monthly Program Fees are based on program cost by district (staff, supplies, rent, early release days, etc) and may be adjusted as expenses change. Parents will be provided at least 30 days written notice for any fee changes.

Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday; school dismissal until 6:30 p.m.

All Day Care**: Included in monthly payments Holiday Camps**: Available at additional costs

*Financial Assistance – fees based on the cost of providing each program. While participants are expected to pay their fair share, the YMCA will assist individuals who want to participate and cannot afford the fee. Proof of financial need is required and must be turned in with application.

**Locations of All Day Care and Holiday Camps may be somewhere other than the school your child attends.
